Balancing Business, Adventure & Growth: How I Manage It All

Freelancing is often painted as the dream career—flexibility, independence, and the ability to work from anywhere. And while that’s true, finding balance is key.

Right now, I’m camping with my family, enjoying the fresh air and quiet moments. But even in the middle of nature, I make time to check in—whether it’s a quick message to a client, reviewing LinkedIn analytics, or refining my blog strategy. Some campsites have no service, and that’s okay. It’s about prioritizing what needs attention while also knowing when to step back and be present.

So, how do I manage all of it?

Structured workflows—keeping my processes clean and efficient so I’m not scrambling.

Client communication strategies—setting clear expectations so I don’t feel tied to my inbox 24/7.

Smart task management—using spreadsheets, handwritten boards, and time-blocking to keep everything moving.

Knowing when to pause—embracing personal time without guilt, because stepping away improves productivity.

And speaking of expanding, my husband has been nudging me toward opening a micro bakery, a suggestion that came highly recommended by others as well. Not that I needed much convincing—baking is one of those passions where I can lose myself for hours and still feel energized.

But make no mistake—my VA journey is still full steam ahead. This is just another branch of entrepreneurship, not a shift away from what I love doing. Helping others succeed in their own businesses through structured processes, communication strategies, and workflow solutions is still my main focus. In fact, the ability to juggle multiple ventures is proof that freelancing allows you to design your career exactly how you want.

For those navigating multiple goals—whether it's freelancing alongside family life, building a side business, or simply creating systems that work for you—know that success is never about doing it all at once. It’s about doing it intentionally.

How do you balance personal passions with growing a business? Let’s connect!
